    11-DEC-05   Schedule all Medical and Dental appointments for you and your family prior to the date of departure. Ensure that all required vaccinations are updated.

    11-MAR-06   Check all credit cards and ensure that dates are not expiring during your trip. Call bank/credit card companies and ask for a credit increase if required. Don’t forget about deposits on travel expenses that may be required.
        Check your drivers license and insure that it is valid during the dates of your journey.
    9-APR-06   If applicable, send in notice to your children’s school letting them know that your kids will be pulled out of school.

        Jot down the PIN numbers for all your ATM and credit cards. If missing, call your credit card companies and request new pins.

    2-JUN-06   Check out weather and prepare clothing requirements as necessary.
        Notify your credit card company that you will be traveling abroad and to expect charges from Germany. This will help to mitigate any fraud prevention responses like shutting off your account.
        Check your ATM/Debit card withdrawal limits.
        Break in any new shoe purchases.
        Stop/Hold your newspapers.
        Stop/Hold your mail or arrange for a neighbor to pick it up.
        Make arrangements for any pets.
        Pay Phone Bill
        Pay Cable/Satellite Bill
        Pay Power/Gas/Electricity Bills
        Pay Water Bill
        Pay Mortgage/Rent
        Pay Trash Bill
        Pay Cell Phone Bill
        Pay Insurance. Ensure that coverage doesn’t expire while you’re away.
        Make any other loan or car payments
        Purchase travelers checks as back up for cash.
        Place any valuables in a safety deposit box.
        Set up a state-side emergency point of contact (friend, family member) give them copies of all your travel documents including itinerary, hotel information, flight information, and any other relevant travel documents
        Notify your local police department, security company, and/or residential association of your planned vacation dates.
        Pick up any dry cleaned clothes.
    4-JUN-06   Purchase batteries for your camera, electric shaver, flashlight, cell phones and any other battery operated devices.
        Pack all your battery re-chargers.
        Reduce the amount of fresh items in your refrigerator. (Milk, cheese, meat, vegetable, leftovers, etc)
        Refill all necessary prescriptions and ensure you have enough coverage during your duration away.
    5-JUN-06   Start packing. Do any necessary laundry.
        Ensure all luggage are secured and do not have damage or holes. Ensure all sippers/locks are operating properly. Purchase new luggage if in doubt.
        Make arrangement for transportation to/from airport. Either contact a friend or make reservations through a shuttle service.
    7-JUN-09   Drop pets off at pre-arranged location.
        Finish Packing!
        Mark all luggage with appropriate bag tags and contact information.
        Water all plants thoroughly. Move away from air vents and direct sunlight
        Set refrigerator to lowest setting.
        Make two lists of credit card numbers and traveler check serial numbers
        Make 4 copies of all passports. Keep one stateside, give one to emergency contact and keep two in your hotel and luggage. Do not keep on person while in country.
    8-JUN-06   Day of Departure
        Lock all doors and windows.
        Park car in garage and close door.
        Unplug most electrical appliances from outlets.
        Set your AC lower unless you plan to keep pets in the house then keep AC at normal levels so your pets do not die from overheating.

    10-JUN-09   If you are not using a rented cell phone, purchase a phone card.
